How to stake FLR on Flare Network

A practical guide to staking FLR with a Flare validator — P-Chain basics, minimums, lock periods, fees, and how to evaluate free capacity and uptime.

Staking FLR helps secure the Flare Network and can earn staking rewards. This is the operator-view guide we wish existed when people first asked us how to stake confidently — including how to pick a healthy validator.

What you need

  • A wallet with FLR on Flare (C-Chain)
  • Enough FLR for the minimum stake of 50,000 FLR plus a small amount for fees on both C- and P-Chain
  • Access to the Flare Portal staking page

How Flare staking works (short version)

  1. You move FLR from the C-Chain to the P-Chain.
  2. You delegate (stake) to a validator node for a chosen lock period.
  3. While staked, your FLR supports network consensus. Rewards depend on validator performance and network parameters.

Minimum lock period is typically 14 days (confirm current rules in the portal). Longer locks may align with validator bond end times — always check the node’s end date before staking.

Step-by-step

1. Open the Flare Portal

Go to portal.flare.network/staking and connect your wallet.

2. Move funds to the P-Chain

Export FLR from the C-Chain to the P-Chain. Keep a small balance on both chains so you can pay fees for future moves or claims.

3. Choose a validator node

When comparing operators (including Aureus Ox), look at:

FactorWhy it matters
UptimeMissed time can hurt rewards eligibility
Free capacityRoom before the node hits its delegation cap
Commission feeShare of rewards kept by the operator (network minimum is currently 20%)
End / rebond dateYour stake cannot outlast the validator’s staking period
Track recordLong-running, transparent operators reduce operational surprise

4. Stake and confirm

Enter amount and end time, review the Node ID carefully, then confirm the transaction.

After you stake

  • Track performance on FlareMetrics and our live stats.
  • On Flare you can typically earn rewards-related benefits from up to three validators — diversification is normal.
  • Set a calendar reminder before your lock ends if you plan to restake.

Stake with Aureus Ox

We run enterprise-grade Flare validation with public uptime and capacity stats. Copy a Node ID from our stake section and complete the delegation in the Flare Portal.
